Are We Really Like This????
Are we really like this??? As black teens we should have better conduct on the train. This is exactly the reason media labels us as "ghetto" or "hood". I admit I don't have the best behavior on the train but it is know where near as hostile or as violent as this. Don't let the media's standards hold us back.

Are we really likes this??, Well no not all of us. i think that when teenagers are amongst each other especially those who are already introduced by violence influences those who were never was,and that comes in to peer perssure. What monkey see monkey is what monkey do. But it's all about command sences,and thats why young african american teenagers are always targeted by the media. We are showing the world that we are what the media shows us as knowing that we are really not.
You see this is what pisses me off. When I go into the trains and I see this behavior in African American teens I say "Why do they complain they are being discriminated against when they bring it onto themselves." This behavior only tells other races back off because if this one is like that then the rest are the same way. I heard from a friend there is no acting black or acting white. Your just calling yourself stupid even if your not conscience of your doing so. Why can't we all just be ourselves and not act anything.
Well yes, the majority of young African American teens act this way one the train, this is evident. The real question is who is to blame for this? As the video we watched in class told us, Music videos and other visual entertainment have been "programmed" since before we were born. I guess you can't FULLY blame them because we have ben immersed in a culture that accepts and congradulates this kind of behavior. I was told that you personality comes both from your genetic history AND your environment. If you look at the environment most African American teens are being raised in, the acceptance of this kind of behavior is happening younger and younger until its almost as if our generation was born into this self-oppressing way of life.
